Declaration / Liturgy / Holiness – Jeremy Austill

Over the next couple of weeks I am going to use this blog to release a succession of teachings on a couple of topics which are stirring in my heart. However today, I want to share with you another declaration/prayer/liturgy I use that will hopefully be beneficial.

Without
Holiness, no one can see God.

Lord,
I trust Holy Spirit is at work within me giving me the desire and power to do
what pleases you. I am grateful for grace in the form of forgiveness of sin
already committed. I receive grace in the form of empowerment to refrain from
sin.

I
declare the seed of temptation will find my soul to be inhospitable for the
conception and birth of sin. The surrounding world has no authority or power to
dictate my holiness. He who is within me is of greater substance than he who is
in the world.

I
declare the totality of Christ’s work on the cross is of such great potency
that the cravings for this world will be squelched in my soul. My salvation is
being worked from inside to outside. I will not settle for behavior
modification but will be made new in my innermost parts.

I
declare I am not only holy in action but I am pure of heart. My motivations are
in line with the heart of God’s Kingdom and my thoughts do not betray me. May
both the meditations of my heart and the words of my mouth be pleasing to you
Lord. Create in me a clean heart oh God and perpetually renew a right spirit
within me.

I
have faith that as Jesus overcame the world, so will I.

I
am not subject to the power of sin, confined to the expectations of the world
nor do I assume an incapability to abstain from sin.

Lord,
In the midst of the trials and challenges of life, I commit myself to worry
about nothing, pray about everything, tell You what I need and give thanks for
all You have done. In doing so I enlist peace as a guard over my heart that I
might not sin against you or be ensnared by my adversary.

I
ask for the grace to embrace the trials, challenges and struggles of life with
a heart of joy. Enable me the perspective to maintain a thought life that
identifies trials as a grace. A grace that affords me the opportunity to
develop perseverance. As perseverance grows and develops it matures me and
brings me to a place of perfection, lacking nothing
